Lee Middleton Dolls - Celebrating Thirty Years in 2008

Lee Middleton-Urick captured he beauty and innocence of childhood thirty years ago while sculpting at her kitchen table. Since then, the Middleton Doll Company has introduced thousands of dolls in various skin tones, eye colors, hair colors and various sizes. 2008 marks the 30th anniversary of the Lee Middleton Doll Company, and we here at Beacon's Glow Collectibles are excited about being able to share in this celebration.

Two very special dolls will be arriving soon to commemorate this event - Thirty Years of Sweet Memories (boy) and Thirty Years of Sweet Memories girl). each will feature genuine pearls, which is the 30th anniversary gemstone.

The newborn girls features a hand-smocked pale pink silk dupioni romper trimmed with thirty genuine freshwater pearls. The newborn boy features a baby blue hand-smocked silk dupioni romper with genuine mother of pear buttons. Additionally, each anniversary doll comes with a soft blanket that has the Lee Middleton Doll 30th anniversary logo embroidered on it. Also included is a baby powder scented sachet in the diaper. Both come from a limited edition of 330 dolls.

First Ladies Collection by Madame Alexander

We are pleased to announce that the Alexander Doll Company is reintroducing their famous First Ladies Collection in 2008. Each of the 3 dolls to be introduced this year are 8" Wendy Madame Alexander Dolls specifically chosen because of their popularity. They include: Dolly Madison, Mary Todd Lincoln, and Eleanor Roosevelt. Each comes with a descriptive bio card.

As her contribution to America's Bicentennial, Madame Alexander premiered the First Ladies Doll Collection in 1976 to honor the women who helped shape our country, dressing each doll in reproductions of inagural ball gowns.

In fact, the Lyndon Baines Johnson Museum of San Marcos, Texas, will be exhibiting a personal collection of First Ladies this year on President's Day as a tribute. (Incidentally, the Alexander Doll Company is the only remaining major manufacturer of handcrafted dolls in America, and is celebrating their 85th anniversary this year).

We here at Beacon's Glow Collectibles will be anxiously awaiting the introduction of Lady Bird Johnson, who holds a special place in the heart of Texans.

2008 Marie Osmond Dolls

Beacon's Glow Collectibles is pleased to announce that we are starting to receive in several of Marie Osmond's 2008 Doll Collection.

Here are just a few of Marie's adorable dolls for 2008:

We were fortunate to get the opportunity to see Marie several times on QVC yesterday (2/13/08) for QVC's Collectors Day presentation. As always, Marie was so pleasant to watch and listen to. A tip that she shared with us is an excellent one. "Place a small dab of hot glue on both the socks and inside the shoe of each of your collectible dolls so that you never have to worry about losing either."

The Too-Sweets Tots introduced yesterday looked just adorable, and it is our understanding as an authorized retailer of Marie Osmond Dolls that a special Too-Sweet Tot will become available at a later time just for retailers. (The Cherry Cordial Too-Sweet Tot was a QVC Exclusive).

As is always the case, Beacon's Glow Collectibles matches QVC pricing, so if you see a price lower on QVC, please don't hesitate to mention it to us so we can adjust the price accordingly.

Madame Alexander Fancy Nancy Doll (47955)

The popularity of Madame Alexander's Fancy Nancy doll (47955) has been overwhelming. We at Beacon's Glow Collectibles sold out of these adorable dolls very quickly. The Alexander Doll Company is currently sold out also and is not quite sure when they will be receiving in additional shipments.

Fancy Nancy, the wildly popular children's book by Jan O'Connor and illustrated by Robin Preiss glasser, is all about Nancy who believes that more is always better when it comes to being fancy, and she is determined to teach her plain family all of the rules. A wonderful children's story that teaches little ones the true meaning of love.

In March, we are expecting in the 18" Cloth Fancy Nancy by Madame Alexander, and expect this doll to be as popular as the 8" Fancy Nancy version.

For those of you unable to order an 8" Fancy Nancy doll, our apologies. We will let you know immediately when our refill supply arrives.
